Looking Back to Move Forward

This term we are looking at the Big Idea- Looking Back to Move Forward. We are asking the question, "Has technology made our lives easier or harder over the last two hundred years?" We are starting by looking at house styles and how they have changed over this time.
We started our study with a trip to New Plymouth to look at some historical sites and buildings. Ms Hanline led us on this trip and taught us about the architecture and history of some of New Plymouth's historical buildings. We visited St Mary's Cathedral,Marsland Hill, Te Henui Vicarage, Holy Trinity Church Fitzroy,the Hen and Chicken houses and the Gables at Brooklands park.Have a look at our slide show about this trip.

Now we are studying the architecture of the different styles of houses and looking at ways to present our findings to share with others.Watch this space to see what we come up with.
